I've always been focused on delivering the best possible editing experiences for my clients. After trying many headless CMS options and constantly running into inefficiencies and complicated workflows for editors, I finally found Prismic. It’s the closest match to what I was looking for. The developer experience is smooth — it's quick and easy to get a project up and running — and most importantly, the editing interface is intuitive and genuinely pleasant for content editors. The preview capabilities could definitely be improved. When content becomes large and complex, it can get a bit hard to navigate inside the platform. Better ways to organize and browse through content would make a big difference. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Ease of use, great developer docs, variety of frameworks integrations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Paid plans could be cheaper, yet as for now, I didn't have the need for using paid plan – free plan is generous. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The interface is very intuitive, making content organization easier. The slices system is excellent for customizing reusable components, and the integration with modern technologies, such as React, is well documented. Additionally, the free plan is quite generous and offers many features, making the tool accessible for various types of projects. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The absence of a feature to define fields or slices as mandatory in a Page Type or Custom Type. This limitation can hinder the assurance of the quality of the content created by editors. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

1. Keyboard shortcuts in Prismic Cloud Repo would enhance productivity.
2. A "Select All" option for media images and documents is much needed. Currently, selecting and managing documents one by one is time-consuming and not user-friendly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

As a web developer, my brain works in slices! Prismic nailed this concept and implemntation! The easy and automatic slice machine setup was great and the dev workflow is super quick to pickup. It was really easy to integrate my existing component library and any libraries I wanted to use! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It could be my lack of understanding core CMS taxonomies but I had a couple of complex document linking scenarios that seemed like I made them more difficult on myself than maybe was necessary. Things like getting a category document from a custom type or page. Honestly though, I tried one of the main competitors and in the time it took me to figure out how to get an image field to render in that system, I had most of a homepage and 6 or 7 slices built. What I like about Prismic.io is its slice-based architecture, which provides incredible flexibility for creating reusable and customizable content components.
The user-friendly interface is another standout feature as non-technical users can easily manage and update content without needing developer assistance.
Prismic's Preview feature is also great, allowing content creators to see changes in real-time before publishing. Additionally, their content scheduling feature is invaluable for planning and managing updates.
Lastly, the documentation and community support are excellent, making it easy to get started and troubleshoot any issues along the way. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The initial setup with Prismic.io can be a little challenging for beginners, but with the good documentation and available videos, it’s actually not bad. However, I do miss dedicated documentation for setting up Prismic with Astro, which will hopefully be added in the future. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

In my opionion Prismic has one downside which is that the documents cant be filtered or sorted in the prismic dashboard for marketeers. for example if a markeer wants to search document based on the date from this date to the next date they cant do it. Hopefully Prismic fixes this Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I first came across Prismic when a developer used it on a website project for me. As someone who isn’t a professional developer, I really appreciate how easy it is to update content without touching much code. The interface is straightforward, and it integrates smoothly with different frameworks like Astro, making it simple to adapt to any setup. I’m now using Prismic on a personal project, and it’s been incredibly straightforward Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There’s a bit of a learning curve if you want to dive into more advanced features, especially if you’re completely new to web development. Some parts of the documentation could be a little clearer for beginners, but overall, it’s still probably the most approachable headless CMS solutions I’ve tried. One of Prismic's greatest strengths is its usability. The interface is clean, intuitive, and built for simple content management. Setting up custom content types is straightforward, and the slice-based system offers a modular, reusable method of content organization. This is especially useful when combined with Next.js, as Prismic handles dynamic components well.
The other major benefit is the visual editor. Unlike most headless CMS solutions, Prismic offers an easy-to-use interface that allows both developers and non-technical people to create and manage content easily without needing to navigate complicated configurations. The media library is similarly well structured, and the real-time preview of changes is an excellent productivity enhancer. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The usability that makes Prismic so accessible also has its downsides. While its slice-based architecture is great for flexibility, it occasionally can be a bit restrictive when trying to implement very customized content structures. Compared to more mature CMS platforms, Prismic sometimes lacks as much deeper customization to offer, especially when dealing with complex relationships between content types.
In addition, although the free one is helpful when working on small projects, the price keeps escalating immediately once you add extra users or functions, which might not be palatable to everyone. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What we like best about Prismic is how robust it is. Even after years of use and with some outdated, even deprecated dependencies, sites still run mostly smooth and meets majority of needs. It’s reliable, solid, and has definitely stood the test of time. Content management by non-techies is a breeze and easy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The legacy Slice Builder we used to build our site has been replaced with the Slice Machine, which has limited our ability to create new slices (pre-designed, reusable content sections) and caused issues with some existing ones. Additionally, while content management is straightforward, administering and maintaining a Prismic site requires more technical expertise compared to some other CMS options.
