Google cloud translation API is just a perfect example of how AI can help solving some of the complex use cases in this world. It's one of the fast, reliable and accurate API's which is easier to integrate, and provide features like auto-detection of languages, neural machine translation and provide high-quality results with minimal effort. The API is also easy to use, with well-documented endpoints and a pay-as-you-go pricing model. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
1) Limited Customization as compared to peer competitors.
2) Cost shoots up for high volume translation needs.
3) Translation quality is good in general but sometimes struggle with highly technical/nuanced text. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It helps me a lot when I need the most out of it. I used it when drafting an email and non-call conversations with my seniors. I am a networking person, I like to network with plenty of people on LinkedIn and in real life, it helps me in LinkedIn connection requests and pitching entrepreneurs/professionals. I am a frequent and daily user, It does my work with so much precision. When it comes to travel, it is so useful in communicating with the locals and learning their culture. Easy to integrate into my app and website. Easy to implement without training. It also supports customers when it comes to satisfaction. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Although it is a very useful technology and helps throughout the work, it lags when it comes to the local dialects and slang. That is the main reason why I prefer an AI chatbot over this. It sometimes shows no or the same response when we ask it to translate to a particular language. It hangs irritatingly and we need to cut the whole sentence and start from the beginning. Also, I do not like the interface, it is too subtle and does not look appropriate to my eyes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
For me particularly for languages like English and Hindi, it provides quick and precise translations. It is frequently used by the chatbot we use and it is very easy to implement. Its simple integration makes it simple to use with computer languages we use in our services. The API works well in real-time applications like chatbots and multilingual websites. I really like its scalability when needed. I did not use its customer support as there is plenty of support in the online community. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Translations for some languages not always be accurate and high usage result in increase in cost. It is a great option for companies and developers in need of an translation solution in spite of the disadvantages of a pricy solution and less accuracy for some languages. Google cloud translation API has automatic language detection and also providing it with high accuracy. The correctness almost like natural human translators. It can even detect few dialects and less often used words during translation which makes the content much more impactful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It's a bit high priced service, lowering the initial bar helps in gathering more users and understanding the true impact and value. I couldn't find any option to use it offline, which may be a downgrade for some users. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Google Cloud Translation API is its extensive language support paired with NMT. The ability to translate across over 100++ languages, including both widely spoken and less common ones, makes it incredibly versatile for global applications. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I find the cost of the Google Cloud Translation API a bit steep, especially for heavy users, as the pay-as-you-go pricing can add up quickly. Also, translation accuracy isn’t always perfect for less common languages or specialized fields, sometimes needing extra human editing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It just works. Seriously, for basic translation needs, it’s reliable and fast. The fact that it supports so many languages out of the box saves us time.no need to hack together custom solutions for rare dialects. The pricing is clear (pay-as-you-go) and scales well for big projects. Integration with other Google Cloud services is smooth, and the documentation is decent. I also like the glossary feature; it helps keep brand-specific terms consistent across translations. For quick tasks, like translating user comments or product descriptions, it’s a lifesaver. Good for everyday use, but don’t expect magic. You’ll still need human eyes for critical stuff. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The best thing about Google Cloud Translation API is wide language support and the other is ease of intergration . Simple REST or gRPC APIs and robust client libraries make integration quick and straightforward, even for developers new to Google Cloud. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The thing that bothers me alot is that pricing-per-using that is like translation costs are based on the number of characters processed, which can become expensive for applications with large volumes of text or frequent usage Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I liked the High accuracy and support over 100 languages and seamless integration while handling large amounts of data effortlessly. Besing using it in smaller project to using in my organisation it works excellent. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Having limited customisation in free tier and For high number of requests, the cost can add up quickly and limited contextual understanding. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Real-time accurate translation: This feature is the best for me. As an industrial analyst and an indie hacker, the real-time translation by Google Cloud API aligns perfectly with my product needs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The batch processing constraints on a large number of files are something that I dislike about Google Cloud Translation API. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I enjoyed a number of features of the Cloud Translation API, including:
the excellent translation quality.
its wide range of language support.
the simplicity of integration and deployment into my applications. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
However, I wasn't entirely satisfied with a few features of the Cloud Translation API:
Cost: The rates may be too expensive, particularly for large-scale translation requirements.
Domain-Specific and Contextual Restrictions: Depending on the situation, a word may have several meanings. These subtleties are frequently missed by the API, leading to erroneous translations.
Security Issues: I'm concerned about latency in some applications and data privacy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
