eLabNext is a nice hub for all your experimental needs and the constant new features or updates is a nice touch. The access to data left by users no longer included inthe group/company is also nice.
The interface is nice to navigate and the ability to see in a tree format where is what in the inventory system is satisfying.
Having a text based/heavy experiment is nice in that one can easily link previous experiments without having to necessarily rewrite the entire thing from scratch Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It isn't very intuitive and makes universal use for persons with different types of experiments a bit difficult.
It isn't very intuitive. It would also be nice to be able to make edits on category types to correct for typos etc in the inventory. As far as the inventory goes, when including samples that are present in the inventory, unless it is possible already, it would be nice to be able to state in an experiment how much material of said sample was used and then have that automatically be deducted from the inventory amount instead of having to manually subtract or add a specified amount in the inventory.
Deleting and editing samples within a box or compartment isn't intuitive either.
Having an excel like format for calculations would also help with logging in the journal portions as it comes to experiments would be appreciated as creating tables and or copy and pasting pre-performed calculations is not as efficient. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Honestly, the best thing is how it keeps everything organized. Going from pen and paper and excel sheets to something this comprehensive really was a game changer. I am able to store all of my protocols and even include things like images to help remember what the results were. Plus, it's pretty easy to learn, even for someone like me who's not super tech-savvy. Customer support has been really great as well! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
If I had to nitpick, I'd say maybe there could be a quicker way to modify things like quantity for each sample, especially when adding a series of many samples which all have different weights/volumes. But honestly, this is a small thing compared to how much it's improved our workflow. Additionally, the protocol uploading should be improved as often it will be very off from the formatting of the actual protocol. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

We've had an excellent experience using ELN – eLabNext. The platform is intuitive, easy to navigate, and straightforward to implement, making it simple to organize and manage our lab data effectively. We use eLabNext daily as part of our routine operations, and its well-structured interface has made adoption seamless across our team.
One of the features we value most is the comprehensive onboarding support. The platform provides clear tutorials and step-by-step guides that help new users get started quickly and confidently.
Customer support has also been exceptional. The team is highly responsive, addressing inquiries promptly and resolving issues with professionalism and efficiency.
When it comes to integration, eLabNext fits well into our existing workflows. While the initial setup requires some learning and configuration, the system integrates smoothly with our lab processes and data management needs once established.
Overall, ELN – eLabNext has had a significant positive impact on our lab’s organization and efficiency. We highly recommend it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
One area that could use improvement is the separation between the different products—Journal, Inventory, and Protocol. Currently, each requires a separate login, which can be inconvenient and time-consuming. It would greatly enhance the user experience if all products could be accessed seamlessly from the same interface or login page.
Additionally, the Equipment section could benefit from further enhancements to improve usability and functionality. Streamlining these areas would make the platform even more efficient and user-friendly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

As a lab manager responsible for maintaining inventory of numerous general use consumables across multiple research groups, the shopping cart functionality has revolutionized my procurement process. This feature allows me to efficiently:
Generate comprehensive order lists in a fraction of the time previously required
Quickly scan low-stock items and add them to my cart during routine lab walk-throughs
Save frequently ordered item combinations as templates for recurring orders
Track order history to analyze consumption patterns and forecast future needs
The intuitive interface eliminates the cumbersome spreadsheets and handwritten notes I previously relied on. With just a few clicks, I can compile, review, and submit orders, reducing my administrative workload by approximately 30%. This time-saving tool has been instrumental in preventing stock-outs and ensuring our lab operations continue without interruption due to missing supplies. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Equipment Section Enhancement Request
The current equipment tracking module would benefit significantly from expanded functionality in several key areas:
Scheduling & Maintenance Features
Alert System Implementation
These enhancements would transform the equipment section from a basic inventory tool into a comprehensive management system that proactively supports laboratory operations and extends equipment lifespan through timely maintenance interventions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I think it is somewhat convenient to have a seperate program that keeps all of the data recorded for me for classes. I have a chemistry lab I currently use this program for, and it has been pretty easy to use overall. I find it simple, descriptive, and everything I need for the class can be found there. I also enjoy that it immediately saves anything I write to it as I have not lost anything due to connection issues before. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
In particular the programs interface is not pretty; it is really bland and feels like it was made in 2008. There are also a couple of minor functionality features that make the software confusing. The sidebar and navigation systems are not very intuitive and take some exploring in order to understand. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

My experience with eLabNext has been very positive so far, I recently began using eLabNext with my group mates in a research lab for this semester. The interface is intuitive, easy to navigate, and it's a good way to share info between group members such as keeping our lab notebook up to date. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Sometimes it's a bit hard to find specific documents. For example, I spent quite a while looking for the IACUC approved chemicals for zebra fish because most of our lab info is on another site and I could only find it on eLab by using keyword rather than a sort or organization function. I use eLab for chemistry labs, and it has been very helpful to help me organize my thoughts and ensure that I am not missing any information. It is very simple to use, and easy to understand, which makes it a lot easier to enter information. I use it almost everyday to complete my workload for classes. One of the downsides of using eLab is that there are some times where it is hard to enter information in tables. There are sometimes that I have issues accessing and entering the information into a table, so I think that making the tables a little easier to operate would be better. Its is excellent that everything is in one place! From reagent location, ordering, protocols, and a lab notebook, eLabs truly does it all. I use it daily, and it is great to integrate PowerPoints and documents for storage of results in one place. Works great with Microsoft tools. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Sometimes I feel like I am battling with the inventory browser, but recent updates have helped simplify the search process by adding more selection options. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It is very helpful to have an online notebook that people working on the same experiment as me have access to it as well. It was easy to organize the steps of our experiment with titles and different sections. I used this notebook frequently, accessing it almost every day. It was easy to implement and integrate this notebook into my class use. I never had the need to work with customer support, and I had no difficulties. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The major downside is that multiple people working with me could not type on the notebook at the same time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The inventory is the most useful function. It allows us to easily see what reagents we have available. Having protocols shared is useful but in this capacity, it is similar to competitors. It is nice to have protocols and experiments linked to reagents. Very useful for auditing and creating M and M sections when writing papers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
When importing protocols into experiments I wish the fillable variables were available after the importing steps. There are a few functions I wish were inherently more flexible but there is usually a work around. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
