- Ease to configure and no training required
- Knowledge articles are easily accessible and addresses my requirements
- Customer support and success manager were readily available to support with the configuration of the tool
- The consultant was there to also guide on best practice and simplification of the process
- Customer success manager threw in extra discount and consulting hours to support our pipeline development Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
- Many non-customizable features and dashboard view is rather limited
- Dashboard view is non-customisable to enable better dashboards, I have to build additional APIs and connects which cost extra
- Filter option is limited as well. Can't include other parameters apart from the predefined ones like category and status
- Submission form as many limitation i.e. cannot hide questions from users Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I love Brightidea in multiple quantities because it provides a canvas to create whatever it takes to get the entire staff involved in the open innovation session, to acquire a fairly fluid work, for every member belonging to some company, according to the idea management, mentioning that it allows insertions of videos, images, personalized design, documentation and among other characteristics that this software maintains, the use of the system is incredible since it allows users to easily share their ideas or comments regarding a project in your process. We can highlight that the project management part in other integrated platforms could characterize an easier use, in order to connect the idea from the beginning to its execution, in a simpler way, since it acquires very complicated and difficult determinations to use, lagging the margin of work in a very fluid way, not excluding that in larger organizations, having several suppliers and readers of prioritized ideas can be a challenge. The fact that the voting and comments do not require any setting up at all and are out-of-the-box. Also the interface and visual nature of the pipeline is very nice. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Admin settings found in different places are the biggest gripe, in particular the differences in vocabulary used on different parts of the site can make it hard to navigate.
I also feel that some of the tools (e.g. Find Owner) seem designed for a very specific out-of-box use case, and they can therefore be difficult to adapt to different situations (e.g. using a Find Owner tool without going using the 'implementation' step).
Overall I think the workflow is a bit clunky and again more flexibility and ease of use here would help in adapting the platform to individual use cases. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I think the user-friendly experience, the excellent support from the support team and the many options that the platform brings you as a manager to manage innovation in the organization Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
As soon as I wanted to make special changes to the platform I found that these options are extremely complex. The platform must be more modular Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Ease of use, flexibility (submission POV).
Mobile app makes it easy to take pictures and submit on the go. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
some things are difficult to administrate (admin point of view) and some of the functions have a clunky interface.
Integrating with MS active directory had some hiccups.
Structure is geared for a gated approval process and getting around that is tricky. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
-allows users and inno communities easily to share their ideas, comments or votes thus drive the collaboration and engagement innovation mindset
-allows innovation program managers to effectively navigate in the idea pools, provides ability to prioritize ideas based on the programs objectives and to measure audience engagement for fostering open innovation
- great support from Brighidea who are always ready to give you a good piece of advice or a good opinion Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
-some additional in-built functionalities in reporting area such as more granular view on the engagement and collaboration (e.g. filtering based on multiple conditions e.g. top contribution by business unit X and region Y )
-backend limitations when it comes to complex rules, functionalities or visualization (e.g. form builder does not allows to configure that attaching a documents becomes mandatory) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We needed an intuitive space to host our quarterly global hackathon events, and BrightIdea's platform is a great solution. Submitting hack projects is simple, and the customizable site makes creating each event is straight forward. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It pays to know HTML when you want to fully reconfigure the site, but widget editor is incredibly helpful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The tool is incredibly easy to use. Not only is the interface clean and built for someone with little to no coding background, but there are numerous features that can be turned on or off with a single click, which helps to accommodate the range of potential crowdsourcing or social innovation initiatives that a large organization like Merck might want to run. The tool makes it very easy to send out mass emails to the reviewers in the flow, rather than doing the work and then getting distracted with other tasks when you are trying to ask for the next steps. In addition, the single page per submission is immensely helpful for knowledge management and social engagement. All relevant parties can connect to the idea, creating a thread of potential users which is so much better than following email threads. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
What I find missing is a very detailed representation of the typical timeline in a playbook for each initiative. For example, use this initiative to run a shark tank competition. 2 months before you need to identify a sponsor. 1 week before you send this type of email. 2 days in post on the blog, etc. Having this as part of each of the standard playbooks would be very valuable. Brightidea makes it easy to set up initiatives, collect ideas from people, move ideas through a pipeline, and measure results. There are several templates and workbooks for different kinds of initiatives like Hackathons, pitch new ideas, improve existing processes, and more, and each is customizable. Brightidea stays engaged and provides usage and other data. I fell like they put a lot of effort in making sure our efforts succeed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There seem to be two different places to do the same thing in many cases (like view/administer users), which can be confusing until you get the hang of it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I like how you can customize the entire thing. It's a proper web application. You can make it as advanced, simple, or personally branded as you need.
I also greatly enjoyed and appreciate the BI support, specifically from Mackenzie Loy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I generally think it is too cumbersome, and it took me a while to learn how to use, at least the backend. Maybe that is the nature of backends. At first Brightidea felt like I was in a pilot's cockpit, with too many knobs and buttons to keep track of. The features also make the backend slow and not snappy like a fun/good piece of software.
